Valuable News – 2019/07/01

The Valuable News weekly series is dedicated to provide summary about news, articles and other interesting stuff mostly but not always related to the UNIX or BSD systems. Whenever I stumble upon something worth mentioning on the Internet I just put it here.

Today the amount information that we get using various information streams is at massive overload. Thus one needs to focus only on what is important without the need to grep(1) the Internet everyday. Hence the idea of providing such information ‘bulk’ as I already do that grep(1).

Regarding note taking, I am arthritic, so if I ever go back to college again the laptop or tablet option isn’t much of a choice. Maybe it’s for the best if the notes are printed out afterwards for better memory & reading comprehension, but medical conditions need to be taken into account before these types of recommendations are made into rules.

I would like to see results of the following test:
      – using only pen and paper for the notes only (no phone)
      – using only pen and paper for the notes but with phone with Internet connectivity
      – using offline computer/laptop without Internet connectivity and without any personal files
      – using offline computer/laptop without Internet connectivity but with personal files
      – using online computer/laptop with Internet connectivity and with personal files
