200 000

Two hundred thousand … 200 000 (or 200,000 in US notation) …

Above is the 200 000 bill (bank note) of Polish PRL state.

Its the first time that my blog got 200 000 views in a year (and about 111 890 visitors) … of course there is some ‘bots’ traffic there but still …

There are still two full days in 2024 … but that was not needed 🙂

Progress

Here is the progress over the years since 2018/03 when I started to write articles on the blog.

In all the time I was able to write 140 articles on my blog and also 5 articles for Klara Systems and 1 article for FreeBSD Foundation.

List of articles that I wrote for Klara Systems is shown below.

In the same time frame I was able to write 354 sets of Valuable News … and 355 will come later as the last one on 2024 year.

Total

The total views (and visitors) from the beginning are almost 1 million and little more then half a million respectively.

Its also related to what articles gained traction on which place – there is some Hacker News effect visible in there.

I tried to use some free online blog analytics tools and it also showed me some per global/country/category rank.

Country

The country that uses ‘most’ of my blog is the USA.

The Germany is the 2nd country when it comes to number of visits/guests on my page – and the Russia is on 3rd place.

I also like the fact that my country of origin – Poland – is ranked quite high – on 7th place … but with some luck it may be even on 5th 🙂

Articles

Below you will find the most popular articles during that period.

The first 170 000 is for home page (combined).

The so called Hacker News effect is also sometimes visible here.

Compare

When I used various free online blog analytics tools – I was surprised that they did not compared me to other blogs – but against home pages of Klara Systems or FreeBSD Foundation ones … not sure what I should think about that.

Top

… and this time its not about popular UNIX top(1) command 🙂

Its not always the case – but many times during that 6 years period – my blog was on the 1st place for Google Search for the freebsd blog term.

While this bring not much … its just ‘another’ way to encourage me to do more.

Summary

Thought after these 6 years – and 494 articles/posts written … it really feels like it was started more like a month ago then more then half a decade ago.

Time flies … do something constructive about it.
