Valuable News – 2020/02/24

The Valuable News weekly series is dedicated to provide summary about news, articles and other interesting stuff mostly but not always related to the UNIX or BSD systems. Whenever I stumble upon something worth mentioning on the Internet I just put it here.

Today the amount information that we get using various information streams is at massive overload. Thus one needs to focus only on what is important without the need to grep(1) the Internet everyday. Hence the idea of providing such information ‘bulk’ as I already do that grep(1).

    Witaj, zainstalowaΕ‚em FreeBSD 12.1 na VirtualBox i nie mogΔ™ uzyskaΔ‡ wiΔ™kszej rozdzielczoΕ›ci niΕΌ 1024×768. DodaΕ‚em odpowiednie wpisy vbox do pliku /etc/rc.conf i do plikΓ³w .xinitrc i /boot/loader.conf nic nie pomogΕ‚o. Czy trzeba zrobiΔ‡ Xorg -Configure i tam wpisaΔ‡ w /etc/X11/xorg.conf?

      Czesc,

      napewno trzeba zainstalowac virtualbox-ose-additions:

      # pkg install virtualbox-ose-additions

Potem musisz zrobic plik /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/card.conf o takiej zawartosci:

      Section “Device”
      Identifier “VBox Video”
      Driver “vboxvideo”
      EndSection

… i dodaj ponizsze na poczatku ~/.xinitrc to ponizsze:

      # ENABLE VIRTUALBOX SHARED CLIPBOARD WHEN IN VM
      if [ “$( sysctl -n kern.vm_guest )” != “none” ]
      then
      VBoxClient –clipboard 1> /dev/null 2> /dev/null
      fi

      … i powinno dzialac.

Pokaz tez plik /var/log/Xorg.0.log to moze cos namierzymy.

Pozdrawiam.
